Your chakras are energy centers in your body that impact the way you connect and interact with the Universe. Ideally, your chakras have free-flowing energy; however, when there are blockages in your chakras, the energy becomes stagnant. Sometimes blocked chakras can eventually lead to physical illnesses.
Your fifth chakra, also known as the throat chakra, is located in the throat area of your body and controls the way that you communicate with the world around you. When your throat chakra is blocked, you are not speaking your truth. Your lines of communication are not open. It’s important to recognize that communication is a two-way street, so a blocked throat chakra can manifest itself as a failure to speak your truth or a failure to listen or be open to truth. Some physical signs that your throat chakra is blocked include a sore or irritated throat, an unconscious desire to clear your throat and the feeling of being choked or strangled.
While we often think about the fifth chakra as ruling your communication with others, it can also impact your communication with yourself. When you’re not truthful to yourself, that is also a throat chakra issue.
Among the signs that your throat chakra is blocked:
You don’t tell people who you really are. You hide your true self to those around you.
You don’t speak up for yourself.
You have a hard time saying ‘no’ to others.
You don’t share your feelings easily with others.
