If you’re into self-help, then chances are you’ve experimented with journaling as a method of sorting through your feelings about what’s going on in your life. But the introspection that you are taking part in when you write in your journal may be hurting your chances for Law of Attraction success.
When you journal, what do you journal about? Do you write about your problems and the things that went wrong that day? Do you write about your mixed emotions or mixed feelings about something? Do you write about things you feel sad or angry about in an attempt to work through those difficult feelings?
If you answered yes to the questions above, you’re like most people, and you’re following the advice of many psychologists and self-help experts who preach the virtues of self-analysis. But consider whether the good being done through the journaling process is hurting you more in the long run.
Think about it. When you journal about things that are going on in your life, you’re thinking about those things and focusing on them. You’re putting them on paper, which puts even more emphasis on those events. You may be analyzing your feelings, so you’re mulling the situation over and over again in your head. Now, think about what you know about the Law of Attraction. You don’t want to dwell on a subject that you’re not happy with. You don’t want to keep playing over and over again in your head something that makes you sad or angry. The best thing you can do to experience Law of Attraction success is to be grateful and appreciative about what’s going on in your life. Pondering why you’re upset or sad doesn’t adhere to that wisdom.
So what, then, should you be writing about in your journal?
Consider starting a gratitude journal in which you merely write about things that have happened in your life that you’re grateful for. Gratitude journals can raise your vibration as you reinforce the good things in your life by thinking about them and writing them down. You’ll attract more things to be grateful for in due time. Simply record the day’s blessings and you’ll begin to notice that more good things are happening in your life than you thought.
Consider starting a scripting journal in which you write about what’s going on in your life in the future as if it’s already happened. So you might use your scripting journal to write about how you feel now that you’re debt free and have financial abundance in your life (even though you’re still paying off your car, student loans and credit card bills.). You might use the scripting journal to write about how happy you are in your new job (even if you’re still sending out applications every day).
Consider starting a manifestation journal in which you simply record the manifestations that have shown up in your life. Not only will you be inspired to continue your Law of Attraction work, but you will have more faith in the process.
Instead of using your journal to get over the things in your life that you don’t like, let it be a tool to attract more of the things that you do like into your life.
