Many people think of Tarot cards as being tools used by psychics to tell the future. In reality, Tarot cards aren’t simply fortunetelling cards. Rather, they can give you great insight into what is going on in your subconscious mind.
If you’ve ever seen a deck of Tarot cards, you know they feature various images and symbols. While a psychic can use the cards to help access their intuition, you can use the Tarot cards to better understand what you are thinking and feeling about a specific topic.
You don’t even need to know everything about Tarot cards to use them in this way. In fact, it’s probably better if you know less about Tarot cards if you’re going to engage in this process since the act of memorizing Tarot card meetings utilizes the logical mind rather than the intuitive mind.
To use a Tarot deck to learn more about yourself, simply lay a set number of cards on the table in front of you. It really doesn’t matter what number of cards you choose. You can simply choose whatever number feels right.
Then, look at the cards and pay attention to your first thoughts. Don’t overthink what the cards may be telling you. Your first thought is your gut. What do the pictures remind you of? Does one of the cards make you think of a certain situation? Does a certain problem or question come to mind? It’s important to pay attention to what you are thinking and feeling as you take part in this process.
Often Tarot cards inspire solutions to problems. Looking at the scene on a card could cause you to perceive a nagging situation in a different way. A certain card may remind you of someone and inspire you to reach out to that person. It’s important to pay attention to your thoughts and feelings without judging them. Our subconscious mind communicates using images. For that reason, Tarot cards can help us to get in touch with the imagination and the deeper parts of the psyche.
Once you feel as if you’ve learned all that you’re going to learn from the cards, simply stop and put the cards away. Have a notebook nearby so you can record your thoughts and reflections.
You may surprise yourself and learn at a later time that the insights you gained were intuitive hits on events that had not yet occurred. Or you may simply have a better understanding of what’s going on in your mind and heart. The Tarot has a knack for revealing one’s true loves and one’s true fears. Take advantage of your ability to access that power, knowledge and wisdom. If you want to learn more about how to read Tarot cards, click here to learn about an online Tarot reading course.
